What is that?
Take a breath. I think your wedding colors can wait.
First, you have to decide where you’re getting married, then when and what you want your day to feel like.
I spend a lot of time talking about feelings (somewhere my T-love is rolling his eyes because with two toddlers in our house there are a lot of feelings every day!)
What I mean is what vibe do you want to create? What do you want your guests to walk away saying about your day?
Even if your parents are generously paying for the wedding I want you to think about it as the first party you’re throwing as a married couple.
If I have. The FREE Wedding Style Quiz. This will get you on track.
Once you’ve taken the quiz, found your venue and set the date then we can start talking about wedding colors.
I actually think your wedding colors will start to take shape as you look at invitation options. Your invitation is something tangible you can see and hold which makes it and the whole color conversation so much more real.
To spark inspiration for your invitation, visit my favorite stationery blog, Oh So Beautiful Paper.
Instead, I want you to look for fonts, colors, shapes and special touches you like. Pin 5-10 of your favorites to your wedding board.
What does this have to do with color? I’m getting there!
Take a screen grab of the images you pinned and upload them to this color picker. It will pull the colors from the image and give you a color chart. Play with different images and once you find a chart you like, you have found your wedding colors. The color picker tool even offers suggestions if your images just aren’t speaking to you.
Watch it on the YouTube Channel here.
Next time aunt Debbie asks you what your wedding colors are you can smirk a little and give the exact hex colors (web designer speak for color).
Here’s a look at some of my favorite pallets we’re playing with in 2019. My favorite color name of the moment may just be Thistle. Send me a photo of Aunt Debbie’s face when you answer her, “What are your wedding colors?” question with Thistle!
Well now that all of that is under control I think it’s time for a cocktail, why not try this delightful Blueberry Honey Bee Cocktail.

The truth is I hated planning my own wedding. I felt like I was going it alone and was surprised by how hard it was to find partners who embraced my vision. Thankfully, the guy was worth it and that experience is what led me to become a wedding planner. After a decade of planning luxury weddings I am bringing my process to you.
