We polled The Girlbossbride Tribe and asked them what member of their Dream Team they were most confused or overwhelmed to hire. Their answer…their wedding florist.
I get it. Florals are actually the one thing most couples have a little experience with. You’ve probably sent flowers for birthdays or Mother’s Day. And you’ve probably been warned that wedding florists are expensive.
Let’s bust that myth and dive into my 4 secrets to stretch your floral budget to the max.
Your instinct is going to be to go to your wedding florist with a full vision for your day and a detailed list of everything you want. DON’T. This is going to limit the creativity any florist can offer both visually and financially.
You want to be able to describe what you want the room to feel like when your guests walk in. Share a mood board with directional ideas, not things you want to literally replicate. Grab inspiration from our Pinterest boards here. Ask yourself:
When you’re florist is clear on the feeling you want to create they can make suggestions on how to get there within your budget. If you give them a very specific list of things to create they’re much more limited. Trust their creative genius!
Once you know what you want your day to feel like it’s time to bring it to life.
When you and your geusts walk into your celebration you’ll absorb all the elements of the design together. I call this the 30,000 ft view of your day.
Go BIG in one place and give yourself persmission to scale back on each individual table design. To brainstorm your WOW factor ask yourself:
Work with your florist to highlight the moment or element you’re most in love with or looking forward to.
Remember we are designing your space for the 30,000 ft view.
When you create two table looks one should always be more restrained. Based on your budget this table look may not include a single flower. That’s not only ok. It’s beautiful.
NEVER EVER do I design a space with every table looking the exact same. I’m giving you permission to have way more fun than that and save along the way. I love to help our #girlbossbrides brainstorm their two looks. Schedule your FREE call with me. I’d love to chat flowers with you.
I look to repurpose at EVERY event.
If you have candlelight planned for your dinner tables can it be used to great guests at the entrance?
If you have compote centerpieces can they be placed on pedestals to flank your ceremony “alter”.
Make sure every bouquet and floral elements is working as hard for you as possible.
Take the FREE and start planning a wedding that feels uniquely you.
The truth is I hated planning my own wedding. I felt like I was going it alone and was surprised by how hard it was to find partners who embraced my vision. Thankfully, the guy was worth it and that experience is what led me to become a wedding planner. After a decade of planning luxury weddings I am bringing my process to you.
