This blog post has been a long time in the making. With just ONE more weddings to go in 2019 the work in the studio has shifted to full scale dreaming for all our 2020 couples. And that includes you!

Once you’ve decided on your venue it’s time to let the fun begin! I’m always honest when it comes to wedding planning and I fully recognize that the venue search can be daunting. It gets way easier, I promise!
When it comes to wedding trends the goal should always be to find the trends that speak to you and you can make your own. Please, please, please don’t feel like a slave to the trends. Work them into your day just like you work them into your wardrobe.
I’ve collected our favorite bits of inspiration going into 2020 on our Pinterest page. Let the fun begin!
I’m seeing wedding gowns take on two polar opposite styles. 1.) A total princess moment 2.) Effortless simple. The more consistent trend I think will be huge in 2020 is elaborate veils. That could mean cathedral length or bold embroidery. Think Hailey Baldwin.
For the guys, I’m seeing tailored but less formal than a tradition tux. The well-groomed, original gent is having his moment and I’m loving it. For one couple I’m working with what the groom would be wearing was one of the very first conversations we had. I was a little taken aback but love that this is being given some real thought.

Color will be a big component of 2020 celebrations. I am seeing a wave of new bold colors used in more playful ways. Imagine a single saturated color in the design and all other elements being more restrained. Overall there is feeling of minimalism with a bit of personality. I’ve heard it described by interior design as the warmth to increasingly electronic lives which I think sums it up well. The overarching colors I’m predicting are:
Florals in 2020 are following the loose garden boho vibe we in the wedding world have come to love. I’m playing with more monochromatic color schemes and lots of whites, sands and ivories to make the color you do infuse pop.
Bouquets are getting a moment in the spotlight with a simpler floral design for centerpieces.
I still can’t get enough of suspended florals and greenery. My design mantra, hang anything!

Designs are taking a turn towards simplicity. Instead of heavy garland and floral-filled tablescapes I’m seeing a more restrained design. Fewer florals on the table means more attention is being paid to the details.
I’m seeing unique candles, napkin folds and placecards.
WOW moments are being had with bars, escort card displays and dramatic, unexpected lighting.

The truth is I hated planning my own wedding. I felt like I was going it alone and was surprised by how hard it was to find partners who embraced my vision. Thankfully, the guy was worth it and that experience is what led me to become a wedding planner. After a decade of planning luxury weddings I am bringing my process to you.
